Dear U12 members
The HKFC final programme has just been released but it is too large to send via the DeA Minis website, so I have asked Brenton to place it on the DeA Minis website today. Please look for it there. This outlines the playing times for our DeA U12s on Sunday. Please all meet at HKFC main pitch at 10.50a.m. at the latest, so that Terry and Mark can organise the teams and get the players warmed up and mentally ready to play. This is a huge weekend for the U12s, so we hope that all registered players will turn up on the day. This is the big one, whereby DeA1 will be playing for the Richard Hawkes' trophy and DeA2 will be playing for the end of season Bowl. Previous festivals this season have been to rank the teams and now this all culminates in the final placings for the season, with big trophies to play for. I urge all parents to make the effort to bring your kids along. As we have 2 teams entered, we will require a minimum of 24 players, which we can just do if everyone comes!!
If you look carefully at the groupings for the Cup, i.e. the Richard Hawkes' trophy, our coaches are very confident we can do very well if the kids focus on playing the great rugby we know they can. We should not be overawed or intimidated by anyone, as we have the ability to beat them all on the day! Please talk to your child before Sunday and instil in him the belief that they can be winners at HKFC and make what has so far been a progressive season into a successful and memorable one.
Dear U12 members
On Sunday, we have the VF festival at King's Park. U12s will play from 13.15-17.30. Therefore, we need all players to be at KP between 12.00-12.30, so that we can organise the teams and warm up. We have already got two players who are unavailable, so it is vital that everyone else comes. We will only have about 22 players on the day, so please make every effort to be there. DeA1 will have 5 games on the day, in the Cup tournament. DeA2 will have 3 games in the Bowl competition, so lots of competitive games. There will be a visiting school from Singapore, St. Andrews, taking part in the Cup competition. They will compete for the right to win the Cup on the day, so it is important we beat them. However, they will not count in the Richard Hawkes point system, for determining league places. The schedule can be found on the DeA Minis website at: www.deatigersrfc.com
Please contact Terry, Mark or myself as soon as possible if you are unable to attend the festival this Sunday!
International Youth Tournament on Thursday 25th March
Dear U12 Members
I hope those of you who came last Sunday enjoyed the coaching by Ivan Zenovic and Fraser Smith. I think the drills they had the kids doing were very worthwhile and the kids were really focused having the senior players there.
As mentioned by Terry on Sunday, the IYT will held all day at King's Park on Thursday 25th March, i.e. the day before the HK7s. DeA have provisionally entered one U12 team for this, so that our kids may play against international and local opposition. However, we need a commitment from players that they would be prepared to miss school on that day. We can provide a letter from the HKRFU to support this initiative. Therefore, please could you confirm with the U12 coaches on Sunday whether you are prepared for your child to play in this event. We probably need about 14-15 players to cover the day.
Training will be from 08.45-10.45 this Sunday, with monthly badges/awards at 10.45, so please make the effort to come.
Many thanks,
Peter
Dear U12 Members
Please make every effort to come to training on Sunday, as it promises to be really exciting for the kids. We have Ivan Zenovic and Fraser Smith to help coach the kids from 10.30-11.30 and then we have Rowan Varty and Lex Kaleca coaching them from 11.30-12.30. Both forwards and backs will have national team players offering them advice and coaching tips!! Not to be missed. Lex Kaleca is our overseas import at DeA and he runs through walls, so it will be exciting having him along too. The seniors are giving up their Sunday morning, so please support this.
Hope to see all U12s on Sunday!
Go Tigers!!

Dear U12 Members
Happy New Year. I hope you are all relaxed after the holidays and eager to get back to rugby. Our DeA U12s did us proud in the New Year's Day tournament, but Peninsula narrowly lost by 5 points to 3 to the Island team. It was a great match and the kids showed high skill levels throughout. DeA were well represented in the team and squad.
For the Tai Po festival at King's Park on 17th January, we have entered 2 DeA teams. The second team will not combine with THT this time, so we need all registered players to attend the festival to make up the two teams. All players will get plenty of time on the pitch.
Can I do a call to arms for this coming Sunday? We need all players to come training so that we can coordinate the teams for the Tai Po festival. It will be our last training session before the tournament, so please make every effort to come along this week. If you cannot come, please let Terry, Mark or I know.
Thanks and Go Tigers!
Peter
