Dear U9 Parents,
Better weather today and kids took advantage of it. They learned a lot and thanks to Cameron for leading the training. Big relief for us as Anthony wasn't available today.
Thank you again to all the dads who look after our U9 balls and shields every Sunday.
Our festival is fast approaching, i.e. only 3 weeks to go, so may I ask the parents who haven't registered for the festival and EAG games to confirm with me as soon as possible if your child will play at these events. Children who are not registered will not be able to play. For the new members, your child can still play during festivals so please let me know if you are available.
I will also ask for volunteers to help at our festival. We need pitch marshalls and referees.
See you all on Sunday,
Regards,
Mel
Dear All Minis Members
This promises to be a very exciting session for the kids this week, as Rowan Varty, HK national team player at 15s and 7s, will be leading training for the U9 group from 08.30-09.30. Rowan has coaching experience too and has come through the DeA ranks as a child through to being one of the HK star players. He will work with coaches on key skills this week, as coordinated with Anthony Tse. Therefore, I ask all members to make a special effort to be at King's Park by 08.15 this Sunday, so as not to miss this opportunity. Rowan will start at 08.30 sharp and then move on to the U10s at 09.30. This will be a very useful learning experience for both the kids and coaches alike, so please do not miss it.
Regards,
Peter (DeA Minis Chair)
Dear All
Here is a list of U9 coaches for this season.
Anthony Tse (Head Coach)
Cameron Reed (Assistant Head Coach)
Conan Pak
Jane Ford
Mahesh Gangwani
Gordon Ho
Eric Chan
Eddie Hau
David Gin
Mel White (Team Manager)
Please forgive me if I have omitted anyone from the list and let me know so that I can update the list. As both Anthony and Cameron will be away this week, then I hope that Conan and Jane can lead training this week. I will ask Peter (U12s) to come along for the first half an hour to get some drills going. Please can we ensure that some shields are taken down to the pitch from the room at the end of the building by 08.30, so Peter can do some rucking or mauling drills.
See you all tomorrow,
Mel
Dear U9 members,
After a hectic start to the season, we now have a good list of kids registered at U9s. Please still try to encourage more friends or acquaintances to join up. All of the kids should now be registered and have their new kits, which we hope they are happy with.
Anthony Tse will not be available this Sunday so I hope Cameron can take over the lead this week. My husband, Peter, has offered to come down and help from 08.30-09.00 with any of the new skills that the U9s have to learn, if we need him. After 09.00 he has to train the U12s. Let me know if you want him to come, Cameron, and Peter can help with scrum, ruck or mauls etc. Also, I hope that Peter Fraser may be available on Sunday to help out with some new drills.
Kane Jury, our DeA Seniors Head Coach, has offered to have a chat with all U9-U12 coaches from 11.30-12.15 on Sunday, so I hope as many coaches as possible will attend this and make the most of this opportunity. If interested, please meet at the top of the steps leading down to pitch 3 at 11.15.
Special thank you to Grant and Angus Colman for sorting out all our U9 balls on their first day of joining DeA. Maurice Shiu, Mike Park, SJ Lim and Jason Cho agreed to look after the U9 balls and return them back to the container after every training session, so thanks to them too. It will be a big help for coaches as they will be very tired after training. Tim Ford is our first aid U9 coordinator but we need more volunteers as Tim is not present every training.
