Dear Tigers,
Training as usual this weekend, although with Easter, it should be a slightly smaller crowd than usual but if you are still in Hong Kong take the kids down and start getting them ready for a tough season next year.
7s Last Week A very successful sevens for all the kids last weekend saw our little tigers demonstrating high standards of rugby and even higher standards of sportsmanship. A special thanks to all of our coaches who made the time and effort to get to the stadium for the kids and the many members who volunteered their time to referee games.
For those that stayed on to watch the adult games on Sunday a very rewarding result with Hong Kong winning the shield thanks in parts to strong performances from DeA's own Rowan Varty (who has been a regular coach for our kids this season) and Keith Robertson. Also in the squad from DeA were Tsang Hing Hung, Fan Shun Kei, Ben Ho and DeA old boy Tom McQueen. I'm sure they were all over the moon to hear the strong support coming from the DeA section of the stadium in bays 131 and 132 and especially the chants of 'DeA' every time one of our boys crossed the line.
Coaching and refereeing courses As we prepare for the next season, we are always looking for more coaches and referees. To that end I am trying to get a number of coaching and refereeing courses organised before the start of the next season. If you would like to be involved please let me know.
Dear Minis Members
A huge weekend of rugby ahead of us as it is the HK7s weekend. If you do not have a team to support, apart from HK, then please cheer for Wales!! There will be no Minis training at King's Park this Sunday, due to the HK7s. However, there will be training as usual on Sunday 4th April, i.e. Easter Sunday.
The schedule for all minis games has been posted on the DeA Minis website at: www.deatigersrfc.com so please search out the information there. You can see the link on the right hand side of the Minis web page, HK7sFinalSchedule.xls.
Basically, U6, U7 and U8 age groups will play on Friday afternoon, while U9s and U10s will play on Saturday morning, and U11, U12, and U11/12 girls will play on Sunday morning. Gates of the stadium will open at least 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled games of the day. Therefore, I suggest that all parents and children meet up with their coaches at least 45 minutes prior to their match, so as to allow time for coaches to organise their teams. However, individual coaches for each age group should have already given out details about meeting times etc. As it is free seating at the stadium, it is well advised to arrive as soon as possible after gate opening to get seats in a good location and so as not to be disappointed!!
Hi All,
Make sure to come early every day and cheer our clubs teams to victory. Schedule is attached.

Dear Minis Members
HKFC Festival - I hope that you all had a wonderful time at the HKFC festival. Although it was rather tedious having to queue for food and beverages, the rugby that was on show was terrific. I managed to get around and see several age groups playing and the DeA teams at all age groups were excellently represented and played to a very high standard. It is great to see that we are extremely competitive at all age groups and the results we achieved were superb. A big thank you must go out to our numerous volunteer coaches and for the parents for giving so freely of their time. As a final note, the DeA U12s were tremndous in winning the Plate competition last weekend and the DeA U11/12 girls mixed as a Barbarians team with other clubs to be surprise winners of the girls' Cup competition, so well done to both teams! I am sure they will be showwing off the silverware this weekend and we shall have it put into a cabinet in the clubhouse.
Dear Tigers,
A reminder that if you don't intend going to every day of the 7s we have other Tigers who would like to go and we are very short of tickets, especially for Friday. Please let 7stickets@deatigersrfc.com know and we will match you up with someone looking for tickets.
Thanks.
