Minis Division

Hong Kong Football Club festival on Sunday 14th March 2010 - programme/schedule

Dear DeA Minis Members

This is a final reminder that there will be no training at King's Park on Sunday, as DeA Minis will be playing at the HKFC festival, Happy Valley. Please enter the playing area via the tunnel entrance next to Happy Valley race course. Details of the playing areas for individual age groups, and the playing schedules, are outlined in the HKFC programme, which can be found on the DeA Minis website at: www.deatigersrfc.com

 Basically, the playing times for matches for each age group are:

U6 = 09.30-11.30 (please note that U6s MUST NOT wear studded boots on their pitch, so please ensure your U6 child wears training shoes)

U7 = 08.30-11.20

U8 = 08.30-11.20

U9 = 10.00-13.25

U10 = 10.00-13.50

U9/10 girls = 13.00-14.00

U11 = 13.30-16.15

U12 = 11.24-16.30

U11/12 girls = 14.30-16.45

It is important that all players are at HKFC at least 30 minutes before their first scheduled game, as coaches will need time to organise teams and to get the kids warmed up.

This is the last major tournament before the HK7s, so we hope we can have a great turn-out from the DeA Minis. We also hope that parents can offer plenty of support for our teams at all age groups, but remember that the spirit of fun and fair play should prevail, so keep your emotions in check and always smile at the referee when decisions do not go DeA's way!!

HKFC 2010 Festival Program Released

Sunday 7th March andd beyond!

Dear Minis Members

 I hope all of those who attended the first ever Valley Fort minis festival at King's Park last weekend had a great day. The DeA teams were tremendously competitive throughout the day. I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.

Pitch Allocation
Youth have requested some pitch space on the weekend, but this is not fully resolved yet. In the event we are confined to 2 pitches, this will make it very tight for Minis training leading up to the HKFC festival. I hope we can secure all 3 pitches, but we may need to be flexible on the weekend.  Training will start at 08.30-10.30 for U6-U8 age groups and from 08.45-11.00 for U9-U12s.

I hope we have a big turn out this weekend, as it is the last chance to train before the HKFC festival on 14th March, and just to re-iterate there will be no training at KP on 14th March. Rowan Varty will be coaching the U11s and U12s this Sunday, so not to be missed by those age groups!!

Badges/awards this weekend.

There will be the monthly awards to kids this Sunday, so please bring your cameras along to take photos. U6-U8 awards will take place at 10.30 onwards. U9-U12 will be held at 11.00 onwards. I hope all parents and coaches will make an effort to stay behind for 10 minutes after training for this important event. We have split the ceremony into 2 now, so that it will not take so long.

 HK7s tickets

7s tickets swapping

Sorry for the quick follow up message.  Colin's U6s are desperate for tickets for Friday.  We have a shortage of some 30 tickets for both kids and adults so if you are not going to go on Friday I'm sure we can put you in touch with someone who wants your ticket.  Traditionally we have had requests for single tickets for each day and so if you are wanting to get rid of any tickets please email 7stickets@deatigersrfc.com as well.

7s tickets and training update

Dear Minis members,

The 7s tickets have been picked up and Roi has kindly volunteered to distribute them in the club house this Sunday during training.  Please ensure that you bring your receipt and ID card with you, tickets will not be given out without these.  We will only be distributing tickets on March 7th and March 21st so please try your best to get them this weekend.  Their are limited number of spare tickets which will be distributed first come first served, requests to 7stickets@deatigersrfc.com .

As always, please be reminded that volunteers working on the behalf of the club should be treated with the utmost respect.  We always need more volunteers to help with various activities which are important to keep the club running smoothly so if you can afford the time, we'd love more help - no experience necessary.

Training this Sunday is from 8:30-10:30 for U6-U8 and 8:30-11:00 for U9-U12 with badge award seperated for the first time into these two groups immediately after training on the corner of pitch 2.  Please stay behind while we hand out the badges and cheer loudly for each of the recipients.  We've split it into two groups to make it faster and our players deserve this enouragement.
