Dear Minis Members
I hope that you have all enjoyed the Lunar New Year holidays and are making the most of the cold weather to go to the beach and do lots of outdoor activities!! It looks as if it will be a bit warmer on Sunday, but still cool. Please be reminded that training on Sunday will be from 08.00-09.30, as we have to give up our normal training time for a soccer tournament this weekend. I know this is not a convenient hour, but please try to come as this will be the last opportunity for coaches of each age group to finalise their teams and fine tune the training for the Valley Fort festival. The proposed pitch usage for this Sunday will be:
U6 & U7 - half of pitch 3
U8 & U11/12 girls - half of pitch 3
U9 & U10 - pitch 2
U11 & U12 - pitch 1
Dear Minis Members
Enjoy the break from Mini rugby this weekend, have a good rest and see you all back at King's Park on 21st February. Still lots of 6 Nations rugby to watch on TV this weekend!
On behalf of the DeA Tigers Minis Committee and from the best rugby club in Hong Kong, I would like to wish you all a wonderful Chinese New Year holiday. Take care, stay healthy and enjoy the time with your families.
Kung Hei Fat Choi and Go Tigers!!
Peter (DeA Minis Chair)
Dear Minis Members
Just a reminder that, as it is Chinese New Year on Sunday, King's Park will be closed from 14th-16th Feb. and hence there will be no training this week. There will be training on Sunday 21st Feb., but we only have the pitches from 08.00-09.30, so please come early on 21st. It is important to train on 21st, as on the 28th Feb. DeA Minis will do battle with kids from all 17 Minis clubs at King's Park, as part of the first ever Valley Fort festival.
Membership continues to increase each week, as new players register for DeA Minis. We now have about 400 kids registered for the club, which is absolutely tremendous, so on behalf of the DeA Minis Committee I would like to thank all members for entrusting your kids to us and for helping Mini rugby to thrive in Hong Kong. I suppose this is also an appropriate time to formally thanks our various volunteer coaches who give so freely of their time each week to coach the kids in the fine art of rugby. Without such unwavering support the Minis at DeA could not function and certainly would not be the best Mini rugby club in HK!
Refereeing - For any persons with a wish to know more about rugby refereeing and a wish to become a rugby referee, then please apply for the course below. Minis will pay the fee for any member who completes the course and produces a receipt for payment.
Dear Minis Members
DBP have sent final confirmation of their visit and only their U8, U10, U11 and U12 age groups will be coming. Therefore, other age groups will train as normal on Sunday, while the above age groups will play matches. This is the pitch arrangements for this Sunday:
Pitch 1 - 08.30-10.30 U11s and U12s will share this pitch. Please note we need to give up this pitch for a DeA U16 final at 10.30!
Pitch 2 - 08.30-12.00 U9s and U11/12 girls will share half of this pitch, while the U10s will have the other half for matches. Please note we have this pitch until 12.00!!
Pitch 3 - 08.30-10.30 U6s and U7s to share half of this pitch, while under U8s will have the other half of the pitch for matches against DBP.
DBP have said they will arrive at KP by 08.30, so please be ready to start at 08.30, for all age groups who will host DBP.
Finally, as it is Chinese New Year on Sunday 14th February, there will be no training on 14th as KP will be closed for a few days. Enjoy a romantic weekend at home, as it is also Valentine's Day!! Could be another baby boom with lots of U6s in 2015!!
Go Tigers!
