Dear U12 members

On Sunday, we have the VF festival at King's Park. U12s will play from 13.15-17.30. Therefore, we need all players to be at KP between 12.00-12.30, so that we can organise the teams and warm up. We have already got two players who are unavailable, so it is vital that everyone else comes. We will only have about 22 players on the day, so please make every effort to be there. DeA1 will have 5 games on the day, in the Cup tournament. DeA2 will have 3 games in the Bowl competition, so lots of competitive games. There will be a visiting school from Singapore, St. Andrews, taking part in the Cup competition. They will compete for the right to win the Cup on the day, so it is important we beat them. However, they will not count in the Richard Hawkes point system, for determining league places. The schedule can be found on the DeA Minis website at: www.deatigersrfc.com

Please contact Terry, Mark or myself as soon as possible if you are unable to attend the festival this Sunday!

International Youth Tournament on Thursday 25th March

DeA have entered one U12 team for this tournament at King's Park. There will be 11 x U12 teams; 8 from HK, 2 from China and one from Singapore (Centaurs). The U12s will play in the morning. I appreciate that this will mean missing school on the Thursday before the HK7s. However, a letter will be provided from the HKRFU, stating that you have been selected to play in an international rugby tournament. Therefore, we need to know if DeA U12 kids can make themselves available. Please can you confirm with Terry, Mark or me on Sunday whether you will be able to play in the IYT. The format will be 10-a-side rugby, I believe, so we will need about 14 players for the squad, as we will have 4-5 games on that morning.

U12s - Peninsula v Island re-match

At 18.00 on Thursday 25th March, the Peninsula U12s will again play against Island U12s. The match will be played at HKFC during the international HK10s tournament, and it has beeen scheduled as the curtain-raiser before the main HK10s final. Therefore, the teams will be playing in front of a full house of 2,000 rugby fans. This is a great opportunity for the 8 or more DeA boys who will represent the Peninsula team. Training for this started last night and will take place every week leading up to the fixture date.

Rowan Varty

On Sunday 7th March, Rowan Varty will come to coach DeA U12s again, so this should be a good incentive to attend training on that day. It is also timely, as he can offer great tips the weekend before the HKFC festival on 14th March.

Let's believe we can do well on Sunday and I am sure we will be successful. The coaches have faith in all players, so go out and enjoy your rugby.

Go Tigers!
