VF Tournament TEAM SHEET

As I mentioned previously, these now become official team sheets and have been submitted to the tournament Director

The objective is to provide fair competition and to limit the downward movement of players into teams playing in lower divisions and to ensure clubs with more than 1 team in the same division field their nominated squads consistently. This system is being introduced now at the VF tournament but it will become especially useful during the final HKFC tournament where all teams will be playing for trophies, and competition will be very keen

On Sunday:

It is expected that players will arrive at 7.30am at the Happy Valley pitch #6

I hope the boys get plenty of rest on Saturday night and arrive early and ready to play hard at the VF tournament.

Both teams are improving but there is room for much greater improvement and there is not one player in the U12 age group that has played to their potential so far this season.

Now is the time for every player to start thinking about how they play, concentrating upon how they can improve, and then trying hard to make it count on the field during matches

Dubai rugby tour - update

Dear All,

I am sending some follow up information regarding the tour to Dubai that is hoping to go ahead during the Easter break.

VF Tournament details

Details for the VF tournament are:

1. See complete U12 schedule attached

2. DeA 1 will play in the Plate comp and DeA 2 in the Bowl comp

3. Meeting time is: 7.30am latest at the Pitch

4. Coaches will be busy preparing the boys for their first matches, so could I ask DeA parents to assist with site preparation (see details on the attached file) before 8 am

5. Teams: I re-post the teams and re-emphasise the importance of boys attending as selected. Where this is not possible kindly let Paul or myself know asap

DeA 1: Fergus, Jimmy, Calum, Josh, Costa, Grayson, OT, Harry, Ethan, Sean, Luke, Ken: Subs: Gordon, Phil, Theo

DeA 2: Jeff Lee, Alan Li, Gordon, Allen J, Parthiv, Phil, Ethan C, Nick, Theo, Henry, Felix, Daniel: Subs: Alex, TBC

Mark is injured

Orion, Antonio, Prithvi and Toby are welcome to attend but all need more time developing safety and skills at training sessions. Coaches will try to find game time if these boys are keen to attend this tournament. All these boys are encouraged to attend the remaining training sessions to guarantee game time at the final tournament.

Hi U12s,

There are quite a few events coming up and so be prepared for a few emails from Paul or myself in the next few days.

1. Thanks to all for helping out at training yesterday.

2. Valley Fort tournament next Sunday - I'll send the complete details asap

3. Sevens Showcase -

I have nominated 2 teams for the Sevens Showcase. We don't know the exact schedule yet but games will typically be on the morning of either Sat 24th or Sunday 25th and parents and boys will obviously need a ticket to enter the Stadium. I have assumed that most of our players will have a ticket and wish to play. That is 24 players!

Please let me know urgently if you will NOT be available to play at the Sevens.

REMINDER - Wed training session

Quick reminder that there will be an U12 training session tomorrow - WED Feb 1st as follows:

Kings park Pitch 2

4.30pm - 6pm

These are great sessions for general fitness and skill development. All are welcome to attend.

Charles Cheung should be in attendance and these sessions are often run in conjunction with the U11s.........

Training session will go ahead as usual next SUNDAY Feb 5th from 8.30am

This will be the final session before the Valley Fort tournament and so final team selections will be based upon attendance at this session. We have been asked to submit team sheets listing players names for DeA 1 and DeA 2 for the remaining tournaments. The VF tournament will provide the final seedings for the teams in the various competitions. Teams will then enter the final tournament at HKFC on March 11th and compete for trophies in the Cup. Plate, Bowl and Shield. The organisers wish to reduce the possibility of players from higher level competitions playing in teams from the same club competing in lower level comps.
