DeA
Tigers currently fields 4 men's teams from Division 1 down to division 6 and 1 Ladies teams in the HK League.
These teams compete in every local league and cup competition, often with a
high degree of success.
Several players have represented Hong Kong at
both 7's and 15's this season as well as in the past and this is set to
continue in the future. The current captain of DeA Tigers is Rowan
Varty, whom you may recognise as a prolific figure in both the HK
national 7's and 15's teams. We also boast the HK captain in Jon
"Chubbs" Abel. We are particularly proud of our role in the
development of HK rugby, currently fielding a number of national U20's
players in our 1st 15, and providing the bulk of local players at
national level.
To maintain our status as one of the premier Clubs in Hong Kong Rugby the seniors
section welcomes interest from active rugby players who are keen to contribute
to both the competitive and social aspects of DeA Tigers. Whatever your
ability, please feel free to come down to training at Kings Park on Tuesdays
and Thursdays between 7-9pm or for more information you may contact any of the

Mens Teams
Ah Movember! It's that time of year again, where the more manly amongst us have an excuse to proudly exhibit their most male of facial features, whilst the less well endowed are forced to endure a month of
painstakingly sparse growth upon the upper lip region. But for a couple of alarming exceptions, DeA Tigers wispy attempts thus far are down merely to how young Kane Jury's side is this season. But that proved no hinderance, as the Tigers dismantled a renewed Kowloon RFC, in what must be their most clinical performance of the year.
Tries from David Jackman (2), Graham Manchester, Fraser Smith and Rowan Varty ensured a 32-3 victory over the side who started the game one below the Tigers in the First Division. The scoreline was reflective of the consistency of DeA's performance throughout the game, but did little justice to Kowloon, who were a strong outfit. Joe Shaw's side have reinvented themselves this season, with a healthy mix of Hong Kong players including 7's captain Jeff Wong, and competitive imports, of which Shaw is one of the very best.
Referee Tobi Lothian got the game going at a new look Kings Park, and it was Kowloon who took the early advantage with a penalty. Both sides were evenly matched throughout the first half, but it was Hong Kong
u20's star David Jackman who broke the deadlock after a classy offload from prop Fraser Smith. Open-side flanker Jackman is fast becoming a key component of the 1st XV, with a string of performances that defy his age and size. Keith Robertson eased a penalty through the posts from 45 yards out in typically understated fashion, to bring the half time score to 8-3.
With the scores so close, Jury stuck to his guns and called for consistency and patience to carry DeA through. And he was rewarded, after Jackman touched down for the second time following a scything run from Tigers hero Robertson. Jon Abel, apparently untroubled by the slug outbreak on his face, provided precision line out ball which was utilised efficiently by the backs. Special mention must go out to new boy and man of the match Lex Kaleca, whose physical presence has meant teams will soon have to dig up Kings Park to find their buried players!
The undisputed star of the
show was Keith Robertson, who scored three tries, set up countless others
and had a night with the boot to remember. He certainly made up for
his poor form in front of the posts against Kowloon, to convert all
of DeA’s tries and a couple of penalties to boot.
Causeway Bay started brightly and it took the Tigers 15 minutes to put some points on the board, the try and subsequent conversion coming from that man Keith Robertson, who pounced on a loose ball to kick through the CWB defence, calmly collecting his kick and then running coolly around a couple of defenders using his blistering pace. 7-0

The first league match of the season, new players, new rumours, new captain, were DeA Tigers up to the challenge was the question on peoples minds, were we “Better Than Before”?
After an intense lead up to the season with some good solid training sessions under our belts and the first mass club overseas tour to Singapore just a few weeks before the Tigers 1st XV were eager to get out there and impress the throngs of supporters who had come to So Kon Po to watch the season opener – The Rage in the Cage. A strong lineup had been selected by coach Kaneo who was obviously nervous on the sidelines, seen muttering to himself and biting his nails.
